Sarah Young

Founding and General Partner

Sarah Young is a venture capitalist and system builder redefining how and where capital creates value.

Before launching Sandpiper, Sarah built a national career advising CEOs, boards, and governments on business growth, capital attraction, and complex public issues. As an entrepreneur, she has bought, scaled, and successfully exited a business, giving her firsthand experience in building value from the ground up. Earlier in her career, as Managing Partner of a leading strategic communications and advisory firm, she guided organizations through expansion, investment readiness, and transformation. Her early work at the intersection of business, policy, and innovation continues to shape her disciplined, network-driven approach to venture capital today.

At Sandpiper, Sarah has helped build a top-quartile portfolio that delivers measurable performance and impact. She focuses on identifying under-capitalized areas of opportunity, partnering closely with founders, and using data-driven insight to scale growth.

A Harvard Advanced Leadership Initiative Fellow and Harvard Business School Executive Fellow, Sarah’s work explores systemic approaches to unlocking performance in capital markets and innovation ecosystems.

She has served on numerous boards, advised innovation agencies and public institutions, and is often invited to speak on entrepreneurship, investment, and system-level change. Sarah believes that great ideas deserve capital, and that when deployed with conviction, capital can drive both performance and progress.
