Cathy Bennett is a respected business leader, investor, and former Minister of Finance known for her impact across industries including energy, capital markets, public policy, and corporate governance.
Her career spans executive leadership and extensive board service, including current directorships with Equinor Canada, PF Collins International Trade Solutions, and Rfine Biomass, and prior appointments with organizations such as BDC, Bell Aliant, Marathon Gold (now Equinox Gold, NYSE: EQX), Shaw Group of Companies, and Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro.
In public service, Cathy served as Minister of Finance and Minister Responsible for the Status of Women for Newfoundland and Labrador, where she oversaw multi-billion-dollar budgets and developed fiscal and policy frameworks that attracted global energy investment to Canada’s East Coast.
Cathy holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and is widely recognized for advancing governance excellence, gender equity, and sustainable growth. A lifelong advocate for mentorship and inclusive leadership, she continues to bridge business, policy, and community to drive economic and social innovation.
