Andrea Barrios
Investment Principal
Andrea Barrios sources, evaluates, and supports investments in early-stage, women-led companies across Canada.
She partners closely with founders to provide strategic guidance and advance Sandpiper’s mission of expanding capital and support for women entrepreneurs.
Previously, Andrea was Senior Impact Investment Manager at Vancity, overseeing a portfolio of 32 private equity funds focused on climate technology, underrepresented entrepreneurs, sustainable food and agriculture, and life sciences.
She also served at The Rockefeller Foundation as Portfolio Manager for Innovative Finance and Impact Investing, managing more than $100M in commitments and supporting the launch of the Zero Gap Fund.
Andrea holds an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia. She has taught as an Adjunct Professor at Darden and, originally from Guatemala and raised in Vancouver, enjoys staying active in the Pacific Northwest outdoors.
